Yi Miaomiao is a remarkably courageous little girl, to whom life has not been particularly kind. At only seven years old, Yi finds herself facing the responsibilities that come with maintaining a household and caring for her grandparents.
Yi Miaomiao is a young girl from a poor village near Yichang in the Hubei province of Chine. While she was living a quiet life despite the lack of resources, her destiny took a tragic turn.
Nearly a year ago, Yi Miaomiao's father died tragically in a car accident. Following this tragedy, the girl's mother chose to abandon the family and never return, leaving behind an orphaned child and her grandparents, too frail to shoulder the responsibilities that come with managing a household.

Since then, the girl, then just seven years old, has shown remarkable courage by taking on the role of head of the household. Every day, the orphan provides necessary care for her grandparents and handles all household chores. To make matters worse for the young girl, her 60-year-old grandmother is a fragile person with a slight mental condition and a disability affecting her right arm. Her grandfather, meanwhile, suffers from a rare skin disease that prevents him from coming into contact with water.

Despite all these responsibilities, this remarkable young girl still finds the strength and time to attend school, where she excels. She has even received several awards, which she proudly displays on the walls of her modest home.

This deeply touching story highlights once again, if need be, the significant wealth gap that continues to widen each year in Chinese society.
