Escaping the stress and pollution of Guangzhou city was our goal for this Sunday after a rather dreary visit to the zoo. A day at the Bishuiwan hot springs located around Conghua seemed perfectly suited for this!

Tranquility and Relaxation at Bishuiwan

We depart from the bus station in Guangzhou located in the Tianhe district, behind which we discover a verdant corner of which we were unaware.

Guangzhou Park Zeus's Lightning Sword Grandma

The Bishuiwan thermal resort is located approximately 75 kilometers from Guangzhou, so we're in for about 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving!

Conghua Bus

On the road to Conghua

The cost of the day comes to approximately 15€ per person, transport included, and we even have lunch offered! The setting is quite nice, we are surrounded by mountains on both sides of the Liuxi river, and the air seems far purer than in Guangzhou.

Conghua Hot Springs

A glimpse of the surroundings

It's time to enter the facilities where we are handed a wristband designed to secure our locker, much like municipal swimming pools. Charlène will tell us later that the modesty of Chinese women is not evident in the female changing rooms. We'll take her word for it... Hot Spring Waters Swimsuits on, it's time to head for the springs! The place is vast and the sun beats down quite hard, making it seem as though the ambient pollution of Guangzhou had hidden it from us all these weeks. To top it off, there aren't too many people yet, so we can make the most of it.

Hot Springs

On the agenda, aromatic pools in various ways (tea, wine, coffee...) and at different temperatures, relaxing hot tubs, wave pools, saunas... We couldn't have asked for more!

Conghua Hot Springs

The most memorable experience will undoubtedly be the fish pool where they come to nibble at our feet to remove dead skin... Personally, I found it difficult, but apparently it's very relaxing for normal people!

Fish Feet Conghua

True fetishists

As usual, we had to endure the staff insisting on giving us massages for a few extra yuan, but can you really blame them...?

Conghua Hot Springs

In the end, we had a truly wonderful day, far from the constant hustle and bustle of Guangzhou and work stress. It's even possible to stay overnight in a hotel located next to the hot springs to spread the visit over 2 days, but for our part we had more than enough!
